NORTH: Troops on their search and clear
operations in the general area of PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU recovered thirty 122 mm
artillery shell parts, thirty hand grenades, two pressure mines, fourteen
unidentified chargers, 300 kg of C-4 explosives, twenty-four explosive filled
tubes and one Rocket Propeller Grenade (RPG) on Saturday (12).
On an information received from a civilian, troops recovered one anti personnel mine and one 60 mm mortar bomb from MUTHTHUMARINAGAR and KUDUMBIMALAI areas on the same day (12).
Meanwhile, demining groups recovered one hundred and sixty-seven anti personnel mines from MARATHAMADU, PALAMODDAI, VILATHIKULAM, MUNDUMURIPPU, KOKKUTODUWAI and PULMUDAI areas on the same day (12).
