celebrations marking 25-years of Oman-Sri Lankan diplomatic relations, the
first 3-day Sri Lankan Trade Exhibition and Food Festival hosted by the Sri
Lankan Embassy Musca was inaugurated under the auspices of Mohsin bin Khamis al
Balushi, Adviser at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, at the Al Falaj
Hotel’s Grand Hall in Ruwi yesterday.
The exhibition and food fest features over 30 Sri
Lankan business firms and companies, exhibiting a variety of products that
include apparel, processed food, a wide selection of teas, travel and tourism,
herbal and spa products, floriculture, organic items, gem and jewellery, fruits
and vegetables, hotel supplies, handloom products and human resource services,
but to name a few.
The Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Sultanate, Asoka
Girihagama, noted, “This is the first time that Sri Lankan entrepreneurs will
have the opportunity to showcase their products and services, in Oman. I
believe Oman is a promising destination for Sri Lankan products and services.
“This will be an excellent opportunity for both
countries to promote and expand bilateral trade relations, further. I am
positive that this Exhibition will further strengthen the excellent
relationship and increase bilateral trade between the Sultanate and Sri Lanka.”
