While the AIADMK protested in the well of the House, the DMK issued a statement against the training of Lankan army personnel in Indian soil.
The AIADMK’s protest was against senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj’s invitation to Lankan President Rajapakse for the foundation stone laying function for a Buddhist education centre at Sanchi in the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh on September 21.
The AIADMK MPs were seen waving placards demanding that Swaraj withdraw the invite.
The party also warned of an agitation if Rajapaksa came on the invitation.
Interestingly, Swaraj, who was present in Lok Sabha at that time, seemed to be busy reading when the AIADMK MPs trooped to the well of the House.
“The controversy could have been avoided. The AIADMK is a close ally of BJP,” said a BJP leader.
On the other hand, the DMK MPs went ahead and met Defence Minister AK Antony, asking him to scrap the training programme for Sri Lankan Army personnel in the country, arguing that such exercises created doubts in the minds of people of Tamil Nadu over the government’s intentions.
The delegation was led by the party’s Parliamentary Party leader T R Baalu.
In the memora ndum submitted to Antony, the DMK MPs said that India training Lankan army personnel after voting for the UNHRC resolution against the island country earlier this year, created “doubts in the minds of people of Tamil Nadu about the intentions of the government.”
“To allay such fears and doubts, we urge the Government of India to immediately stop training the Sri Lankan Army personnel, who are accused of perpetrating war crimes against innocent Tamils in that country,” the MPs said.
The issue has also triggered a letter war, with Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her bete noire and DMK chief M Karunanidhi dashing off letters frequently to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking scrapping of the training exercise
The
Rajapakse Brothers come to India several times a year. The Places they normally
visit are Tirupati, ShirdiSai Temple, SatyaSai Temple, Guruvayur and Bodh Gaya.
Tamils have to maintain Vigil at these places and capture these Rajapakse
Criminals. These Rajapakse Criminals have to be Hanged at the Hague, Tamilnadu
CM Jayalalithaa should give Reward Money of One Million Dollars to anyone who
Captures these Srilankan Thugs. If India intervenes to protect these Criminals,
then Tamils have to take 'Other' Methods to get Justice for the 40,000 Innocent
Tamils who were massacred in the Genocide of 2009. In any case these Criminals,
The Rajapakses cannot run from Tamil Justice. Your Days are Numbered!
It
is a shame on us Indians for the illtreatment of the Sri Lankan
tourists/pilgrims and forcing them to return. How can they be held responsible
for whatever their government have done. We can understand anybody objecting to
the Sri Lankan government or their officials but illtreating the innocent
pilgrims or tourists is surely condemnable. Have we forgotten our credo
"Athithi Devo Bhava"
KSV
Subramanian, there should be no shame on kicking out Singalas from Tamilnadu.
In fact TN Tamils have been very 'Patient' as far as Srilanka. You Sir are
talking of "Athithi Devo Bhava" and such stuff. Where were guys like
you, when 550 of out TN Fishermen were killed by Srilanka Navy? Do you even
care for them? The TN Tamils are mad that over 40,000 Innocent Tamils were
Butchered in 2009 by Singala Thugs. These 40.000 people had nothing to do with
the Terrorism of Prabakaran. Yet they were killed, Some were Tortured and
Executed and the Singalas are showing it off as War Trophy Videos. So where is
Justice for Tamils? So many of the 40,000 cried 'Aiyo Muruga' and were shelled
to Death? So where is Justice for them? The Indian Media and many Elites are so
Godamm Silent on this matter? Why? Is it because,Tamils are Expendable? Or are
they of a Lower Race? The Criminals responsible for the Genocide of Tamils will
have to answer for their Crimes and that day is soon nearing.
