SLUNA has taken the lead along with other
friendly organizations
to hold a Protest Demonstration opposite the US Consulate located
at 360 University Avenue Toronto (nearest Subway is St. Patricks)
as detailed below:
We are objecting to the USA’s attempt to interfere in the internal
democratic process of National Healing and Reconciliation in
Sri Lanka based on Sri Lanka’s own Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation
Commission’s recommendations, through a Redundant Resolution
proposed for adoption by the UNHCR in Geneva, when Sri Lanka
has already taken steps to implement the LLRC Report. We oppose
outside interference in Sri Lanka’s internal matters.
The Demonstration is to be held with prior Police permission on
